Two different types of biostimulators:
Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse
Sculptra is FDA-approved in the United States and has been used worldwide since 1999. Sculptra is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally by the body, stimulating the body's natural collagen production.
Hyperdilute Radiesse is a dermal filler that is a diluted version of Radiesse, a calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA)-based filler. This stimulates fibroblasts (cells that produce collagen) to create new collagen and elastin, producing natural results and improving skin texture, elasticity, and firmness.

What do biostimulators address?
Sculptra can be used to treat midface lines, restore volume, and improve deep nasal folds and the chin area.
Hyperdilute Radiesse is very versatile and can address overall facial volume loss and fine lines, along with neck lines, décolleté, hands, and knees. By changing the dilution ratio, your treatment can be customized based on your desired effect. This treatment improves skin tightening, skin texture, hydration, fine lines, wrinkles, and restores volume.

Biostimulator results:
On average, with our biostimulators West Columbia patients will need 2-3 treatments over the course of several months for optimal results. These can be spaced every 4-6 weeks. The number of injections can vary based on individualized treatment plans.

Recovery:
Sculptra requires the patient to massage the treated area to evenly distribute the product. A good rule of thumb is 5-5-5: Massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.
Hyperdilute Radiesse has very minimal downtime, with a risk of bruising, swelling, and tenderness.
Reported side effects include injection site pain, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching, lumps, bleeding, and swelling. Small bumps under the skin can sometimes be noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, with or without inflammation, have also been reported.
