Dr. Rueb joined Southern Urogynecology in April of 2023. She brings years of experience providing care for women of the midlands as a Urologist. She trained with experts in the field of Urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic and University of Virginia, thus it was not surprise to us when she was swiftly able to surpass all requirements for obtaining her second board certification. She has already become a valued member of the Southern Urogynecology team.
“We are thrilled for Dr. Rueb and this amazing accomplishment. She is now a double board-certified physician and is an incredible part of our team,” says Dr. Pezzella. “We look forward to many more years improving the lives of women in and around the midlands.”
Since joining Southern Urogynecology Wellness & Aesthetics in April of this year, Dr. Rueb has had over 1,800 patient encounters, has performed over 200 in-office procedures, and has completed over 100 surgeries.
“It has been a great honor to be part of the Southern Urogynecology team and serve the women of this community. I am so proud to be one of the few double board-certified FPMRS urologists in South Carolina. I look forward to many more milestones with my wonderful team at Southern Urogynecology” says Rueb.
Southern Urogynecology Wellness & Aesthetics is the first and only center exclusively dedicated to urogynecological services in the Greater Columbia Metropolitan Area. Founded by board certified Urogynecologist, Andrea Pezzella, M.D., FPMRS, FACOG, this premier center utilizes this sub-specialty of obstetrics and gynecology to evaluate all the structures and functions of the female pelvis.
The medical practice offers minimally invasive and innovative treatments options for patients to restore and regain their confidence and improve their quality of life. Southern Urogynecology has been designated as a Center of Excellence for Axonics and Medtronic InterStim sacral neuromodulation as well as for Bulkamid urethral bulking. This recognition is awarded for their volume of patients able to receive this therapy, quality of patient outcomes, and the teams’ continued commitment to improving the lives of patients suffering from
debilitating bladder and bowel symptoms.
The American Board of Urology (ABU) is organized to encourage study, improve standards, and promote competency in the practice of Urology. The Board evaluates candidates who are duly licensed to practice medicine and arranges and conducts examinations for the purpose of certification, subspecialty certification, recertification, and ongoing maintenance of certification. Certificates are conferred by the Board to candidates who successfully complete all requirements for a given certificate.
The ABU certifies urologic physicians who meet its educational, professional standing, and examination criteria. To become certified, a urologist must have core competencies in all domains of urology, including but not limited to pediatric urology, endourology, female urology, andrology, oncology, and general urology. All certified urologists are trained to evaluate and treat all patients with urological disorders.
