Suzanne Smith graduated with honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S in Biology and Chemistry. She received her Physician’s Assistant degree from Wake Forest University in 2000. After graduation from PA school she worked in Emergency Medicine in several different hospitals in Charlotte and Raleigh NC.
In 2011, Suzanne Smith joined Dr. Andrea Pezzella at Southern Urogynecology. Suzanne has focused her career on helping women in the area of urinary urgency and frequency, incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, and interstitial cystitis and improving their quality of life.
Suzanne is expertly trained in the area of neuromodulation for urinary and fecal incontinence and manages our patients with Interstim and Axonics stimulators programming post operatively. Suzanne is a key opinion leader among her Advanced Practitioner peers where she travels around the country training and offering her expertise in the expanding field of neuromodulation. She is also trained to do many non-invasive office procedures under the guidance of Drs. Pezzella and Dr. Rueb. Suzanne is committed to helping Southern Urogynecology better serve the women of our community with all urogynecology related issues.
Suzanne is married to Brandon Smith and is the mother to three very successful young adults. She is very involved in their schools, extracurricular activities and in our community, and is an avid tennis player.
